STRIVE
Student Leader - VP Operations
University of Arizona - Tucson, AZ
I am an undergraduate student at the University of Arizona. My majors are Economics and Philosophy, Politics, Economics, and Law (PPEL). I joined The Undercurrent Student Leader Team because I want to advance the Objectivist movement, especially among college students, and gain professional experience in the political nonprofit arena. I want to pursue a career with a think tank or nonprofit organization that is dedicated to the principles of Individualism. I hope to influence policy with my knowledge of economics in order to create a free society.

I was first introduced to Objectivism while studying abroad in Japan. I used to think that I belonged in Japan; I was obsessed with the culture and worked hard to get accepted to an exchange program. However, five months into the program, I felt unsatisfied but I did not know the source of my unease. Ayn Rand’s novels helped me identify the philosophical differences I had with the highly collectivist Japanese culture. Since that time, I have been an avid activist for Objectivism and philosophy remains the most important aspect of my life.

I am excited to bring The Undercurrent’s new student programing and club network to my university. I think that students will appreciate the emphasis our programs put on personal development. It is my goal to work with the TU team to design workshops and campus-wide activities that provide students with value as well as effectively introduce them to Objectivist principles.
